The bathroom is often a real challenge when it comes to staying organized. I know exactly what I’m talking about…
Over the years and across different apartments, I’ve tried countless bathroom storage ideas − and along the way, I’ve figured out what truly works and still looks beautiful. Here are my seven best tips for a tidy and stylish bathroom.
1. Organizers – the best invention ever

I LOVE organizers. For me, they’re hands down the best invention when it comes to bathroom organization. Whether it’s skincare, toothbrushes, brushes, or makeup − with the right inserts and boxes, everything stays within reach without looking cluttered.
Rotating organizers* for countertops or small drawer organizers* for bathroom cabinets are especially practical. This way, every product has its own dedicated place.
My favorites:
- Rotating organizers* for a clean, organized countertop
- Drawer organizers* for small items like lipsticks or hair clips
2. Baskets – order inside cabinets and shelves

Bathroom cabinets can quickly become chaotic − that’s where baskets* come in. They make it easy to sort products by category: one basket for skincare, one for hair products, and one for small essentials like nail scissors or tweezers.
While natural baskets* look beautiful, plastic* or acrylic versions* are often more practical since they’re moisture-resistant and easy to clean.
My tip: Use different basket sizes so everything has its own perfectly fitting storage space.
And a little insider tip: I use these organizers* not only in my bathroom cabinet, but also in my utility closet and even in the fridge. They’re simply too practical not to.
3. Small Bathroom shelves − decorative and practical

A small bathroom shelf* is an absolute organization game changer in the bathroom. I actually picked up this idea from my mom and use it to combine practical storage with decorative elements.
It allows you to neatly store your essentials while styling the space with candles, small plants, or beautiful towels. Not only does it look inviting, but it also makes the bathroom feel more like a living space.
How to use it:
- Fresh towels on one shelf
- Skincare products stored in pretty baskets*
- A small candle or decorative piece for a cozy atmosphere
4. Shower storage – even without drilling!

Products standing on the shower floor don’t just look messy − they also collect water and soap residue quickly. I prefer shower storage solutions that don’t require drilling*, because they’re flexible and easy to install.
Just one thing to keep in mind: don’t overload them, or they might still slide off. Been there… done that 🙂
Things that can be easily stored in the shower:
- Shampoo & shower gel
- Scrubs & razors
- A small brush for scalp care
5. The right furniture – the most important foundation

No matter how many organizers you use − without the right furniture, staying organized is difficult. If you have the space, a tall storage unit* is perfect for towels. If not, a slim cabinet* or a vanity with storage underneath is a smart way to add storage without making the bathroom feel crowded.
Furniture that truly makes sense:
- Tall shelf*: perfect for towels and beauty products
- Vanity cabinet: an absolute must in the bathroom − no debate here (sorry) 👀
- Slim chest of drawers*: ideal for small bathrooms
6. Over-the-toilet shelving – smart use of vertical space
If you’re short on storage, the space above the toilet is pure gold. Over-the-toilet shelves* are perfect for adding storage without taking up any extra floor space.
They’re ideal for everyday bathroom essentials like toilet paper, extra towels, or cleaning products. At the same time, they keep everything neatly organized and easy to reach.
What I love about them:
- Perfect storage for toilet paper & spare towels
- Makes use of otherwise wasted space
- Keeps the bathroom looking tidy, not cluttered
Tip: Choose open shelves* for a light, airy look or closed boxes* if you prefer things completely out of sight.
7. Hooks & rails – the small details that change everything

One thing that’s often overlooked in bathroom organization: hooks and rails*. They don’t take up space, but they make a huge difference in daily life.
Towels dry faster, bathrobes finally have a proper place, and even hair tools can be stored neatly instead of lying around.
Where they work best:
- Behind the door for towels or bathrobes
- Next to the sink for hand towels
- Inside cabinets for hair tools or small baskets
With these storage ideas, I’ve finally found the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics − without constantly searching for my favorite products. Do you have a secret tip for clever bathroom storage? 😊
